President Joe Biden has started walking alongside a group of aides and lawmakers as he makes his way across the South Lawn at the White House, according to several sources close to him. The move is reportedly aimed at distracting from videos that have highlighted Biden’s awkward gait and raised concerns about his age and health among some members of his team. By walking with others, the aides not only cover up certain angles of camera shots but also draw attention away from the president as he makes his way to Marine One. The idea for this new routine is said to have come directly from Biden himself; according to sources familiar with the matter, he expressed a desire to be less formal and invited members of his team to join him on these walks. Since April 16th, Biden has been accompanied by others around nine times out of ten when making this journey. While it’s not completely clear whether Joe Biden is actively utilizing the aides as part of some shield or protector scheme against critical commentary regarding his health problems – which include “spinal arthritis” and “mild sensory peripheral neuropathy in both feet,” according to an assessment made by the president’s physician – there have been measures taken at times, such as wearing supportive sneakers or taking shorter stairs when boarding Air Force One.
