Family Of 14-Year-Old Kentucky Girl Accuses Classmate Of Brutal Attack On School Bus With Metal Tumbler, Shares Graphic Photos
The parents of a freshman student with autism at Franklin Simpson High School in Kentucky have accused one of her classmates of brutally assaulting their daughter on a school bus earlier this month. Emma Filback was allegedly hit repeatedly over the head with a metal tumbler by another female high school pupil without provocation, leaving her requiring stitches across the top of her scalp. The incident occurred on April 18 and Chryslee Filback, Emma’s mother, has filed an Emergency Protection Order against the accused attacker but this was reportedly denied for unknown reasons by a judge on Monday (23 April). Simpson County School District officials said in response that “this matter is being dealt with in accordance with our district and school policies” while confirming that two students were involved in what they described as an incident aboard the bus. The alleged attacker, who Emma’s family claim to be older than their daughter at Franklin Simpson High School, apparently posted a photo of the tumbler on social media along with the caption: “I beat her with this”. A GoFundMe page set up by the Filback family said that funds would be used not only to hire legal counsel in relation to both protecting Emma and bringing action against any responsible individuals or organisations but also for the extensive therapy and counselling she will need as a result of what happened.
