The second body found at former Washington state school resource officer Elias Huizar’s home has been identified as his 17-year-old girlfriend Angelica Santos, who was also the mother of their one-year-old son. West Richland Police Department confirmed this during a news conference on Wednesday. In addition to being accused of kidnapping Roman Santos and leading Oregon police on a vehicle chase that ended in Huizar’s death from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, investigations also found evidence of child rape in the third degree against Angelica Santos. The cause of her death is still pending an autopsy, but it remains unclear why she was killed as no motive has been identified yet. Benton County Prosecutor Eric Eisinger added that a protection order had already been filed on behalf of Angelica Santos in relation to Huizar earlier this year. Records showed Huizard had also previously been charged with second-degree rape, although it is unclear who the victim was or their age at this time. The Oregon State Police superintendent and two other officers involved in chasing Huizar have now been placed on leave as an investigation continues into the incident.
