“Gaza Solidarity” Protests Turn Violent with Anti-Semitic Slurs and Hezbollah Flag at Elite U.S. Universities

Rewritten Article: “Common Sense” Department – Students at prestigious universities across the United States are forming “Gaza Solidarity” encampments and participating in protests demanding that their institutions stop supporting Israel. However, some of these demonstrations have turned violent with instances of hate speech against Jews. At Columbia University in New York City, protesters shouted slurs such as “We are Hamas” and “Go back to Poland”. Meanwhile, at Princeton, a student held up a Hezbollah terror flag during protests on Thursday. The U.S State Department classifies this militant group operating out of southern Lebanon as a foreign terrorist organization due to its regular attacks against Israel since the Oct 7 attack in Israel ignited warfare between Hamas and Israel. Princeton University authorities called for immediate disassembly by demonstrators violating university rules concerning unlawful disturbance, harassment or obstruction of essential operations following warnings from their police force after some students erected tents on campus grounds as part of the protest action. The President of Princeton University urged that protests must not pose genuine threats to safety and security nor disrupt normal academic activities in his op-ed piece published by the student newspaper.
