The retired geologist Andrew Beckly claims to have stumbled upon a lost Bronze Age settlement on his property after learning how to identify artifacts by watching popular British TV series ‘Time Team’. Following a chance discovery of an arrowhead beneath his garden, he went on to uncover over 2,500 artefacts including blades and axes. Beckly believes that the find could rewrite history books as it suggests there may be more prehistoric sites in Somerset than previously thought. His findings include microliths which date back to a time when woolly mammoths roamed Britain, according to SWNS news agency. Although experts initially dismissed his discoveries, they are now being examined by heritage specialists who could confirm the age and significance of Beckley’s collection. The Bronze Age lasted roughly between 3000 BCE and 1200 BCE.
