Did Nick Saban step down from coaching to avoid facing the Wisconsin Badgers in Madison during their upcoming game? The speculation has arisen as former Alabama coach, Saban, announced his retirement at the end of last season. As a diehard Wisconsin fan, I was disappointed when Saban left due to my excitement for seeing him lead the Crimson Tide against the Badgers. Fortunately, there are no indications from Luke Fickell during an interview that Saban retired because he did not want to face Wisconsin; however, it’s clear that this theory brought amusement and laughter to Fickell when presented by his interlocutor on “Kings of The North” podcast. In any case, plane tickets are booked, hotels secured, family travel arrangements finalized and the level of enthusiasm for September 14th is off the charts – a date that will see me enter Madison come hell or high water to watch our team beat Alabama under new head coach Kalen DeBoer’s leadership. Fickell has proven himself as an amusing individual, but now all we can do is prepare diligently and trust his capability against Alabama! Looking back, one of my funniest trolling tweets occurred in that area sometime ago when the Wisconsin game felt ages away from where I currently stand right this second.
