Biden’s Troublesome Ten Points: Low Approval, Economic Struggles, and Regulatory Woes

This week’s White House Report Card finds President Joe Biden in a tumultuous state due to various issues plaguing his administration. According to Gallup, the president has hit an all-time low of 38.7% approval rating for presidents, which is nearly ten points below former President Jimmy Carter’s figure at this point during his presidency. This dismal score puts Biden exactly 10 points lower than the historical minimum required for reelection, as per Gallup’s calculations.

The economy has also been a cause of concern for Biden. Inflation continues to soar while GDP growth slows down significantly. Moreover, union workers have openly criticized his leadership on live TV regarding economic matters. This is not the only instance where President Biden made errors; he was recently seen reading out loud directions from his teleprompter and ordering aides to shield him from media cameras due to unsteady gaits during public appearances.

Both Jed Babbin, a conservative commentator, and John Zogby, an experienced pollster, saw their problems as White House evaluators this week, although their observations led them towards somewhat conflicting conclusions. While Babbit gave Biden’s performance a “D-minus” grade citing various unfavourable regulatory practices adversely impacting the American economy and stating that such policies could potentially bring about an economic halt in the country; Zogby awarded Biden a C mark for his grades due to being unable to exploit problems confronted by former President Donald Trump owing to dismal poll numbers, which continue hover around 40%.

Despite facing several issues both at home and abroad – from worsening inflation figures and plummeting approval ratings to foreign conflicts like Israel’s retaliatory measures against Iran – Biden seems unable to break free of his slump. As Zogby points out, the president has failed to capitalize on former President Trump’s legal issues due in part to court-ordered restrictions on disclosure of evidence related to those troubles which seem poised for further detention or delays pending judicial proceedings or reviews by higher courts.

In conclusion, Biden’s administration is currently facing a multitude of crises as evident from both commentator analyses that highlighted several instances illustrating the president’s stumbles and mishaps in recent times.
