Rewriting Article: “ARK Invest’s Chief Futurist Outlines Five Key Areas for Tech Investors”
Brett Winton, ARK Invest’s chief futurist, has identified five areas that he believes will give tech investors an edge. According to him, robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), multi-omics sequencing, public blockchain, and energy storage are all entering the marketplace at the same time.
In a conversation with CNBC’s “ETF Edge,” Winton stated that this is a unique point in technological economic history because these areas are converging simultaneously. He collaborates with ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood to manage the ARK Venture Fund (ARKVX), which allows individual investors access to private technology spaces through venture capital offerings of innovative markets.
Winton emphasized that their investment strategy prioritizes innovation in the long term, as it is not commonly observed by many public market investors who lack a long-term viewpoint. The ARK Venture Fund has lost more than 7% this year so far but surged almost 39% over the past 52 weeks up to April 10. Some of its top holdings include Fortnite game creator Epic Games, and biotechnology firms Freenome and Relation Therapeutics according to the ARK firm’s website description.
“Could you possibly provide some examples or further explanation about how these five key areas are converging in this unique time for technological economic history?”
