Fox News host Sean Hannity takes issue with President Biden’s recent interview with Howard Stern, criticizing him for recounting fabricated stories while portraying himself as a civil rights icon. During the sit-down chat on Stern’s radio show last week, Biden bragged about being arrested attempting to visit Nelson Mandela in prison during apartheid South Africa – an assertion that has been debunked by multiple fact checkers. Hannity called out this false claim and reminded viewers of Biden’s true record as a young senator who worked alongside segregationists like Robert Byrd, the former Klansman, to oppose school integration and bussing policies in order to prevent children from attending schools that were predominantly black or Hispanic. Hannity also pointed out other missteps by the gaffe-prone Biden during his interview with Stern such as mistakenly referring to June 6th – D-Day – instead of another significant date on April 15th (income tax filing deadline in some states and not necessarily close or dear for many people) . Despite claims from some media outlets that Hannity’s criticism was unfair, the Fox News host stood by his assessment, calling Biden’s falsehoods “tall tales” rather than lies.
