Miami Grand Prix Revokes Suite License Over Political Fundraising Planned by Trump Donor Witkoff

The Miami Grand Prix issued a cease and desist letter to prominent Trump donor Steven Witkoff after learning that he planned to use a suite at the event for political fundraising. In violation of the venue’s policy, which states that suites cannot be used “for advertising, promotional or commercial purposes” without prior written consent from race organizers and F1 entities, Witkoff had rented out his Paddock Club Rooftop Suite to host a $250,00-per-ticket fundraiser for federal elections. The letter warned that if the event went ahead as planned, Witkoff’s suite license would be revoked and he wouldn’t be permitted to attend the race in any capacity, with a full refund being issued instead. Trump himself was not mentioned directly in relation to the fundraising plans; however, individuals who had contacted organizers about attending were informed that it was for an event related to the former president. The Secret Service reportedly also got involved by coordinating his stay at the race. Witkoff declined to comment further when approached by a reporter from the Washington Post.
