Pitcher Duels Likely as Royals, Tigers Struggle with Run Production at 6:10 ET

Royals vs. Tigers at 6:10 ET today is a game between two top teams in the division that have been showing contrasting trends lately. While the Royals are enjoying success, having won seven out of their last ten games, with all three losses coming due to tight results and concerns regarding their On-Base Percentage (OBP) at .306, the Tigers’ performance has also been impressive despite lower batting averages, OBPs, and slugging percentages than the Royals.
The pitcher for tonight’s game is Brady Singer of the Royals who holds a 2-1 record with an ERA of 2.76 and WHIP of 0.95 in his starts this season. While he has had success against the Tigers, going 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA in two games played earlier, their hitters have gone 16 for 60 against him overall.
On the other hand, Casey Mize of the Tigers will be making an appearance today as he builds up momentum from back to back quality starts over his previous appearances while only allowing seven earned runs across a total of 21.1 innings pitched this season. The Royals’ Salvador Perez has had some success against him, but overall, there is not much experience or data available regarding Mize versus the Royals’ batters in their recent encounters.
With both teams displaying solid pitching performances and a low propensity to score runs recently, it becomes clear that an under bet seems more suitable than placing wagers on either team winning this game outright. The Tigers could potentially win if Singer allows for home runs or the Royals take advantage of multiple hits in succession against Mize; however, given their recent trends and pitching statistics, both teams’ offenses seem unlikely to breakout tonight.
