Barkley Slams Pelicans with ‘Dirty-Ass Water’ Jab at Galveston after Playoff Losses

The New Orleans Pelicans are teetering on commencing their summer as they trail the Oklahoma City Thunder 3-0 in their initial-round series, and TNT analyst and NBA legend Charles Barkley has had enough of them. In fact, he’s so disgusted that he stated the team doesn’t even merit an offseason vacation to Cancun and asserted instead they are more appropriate for the grubby waters of Galveston, Texas. His words, not mine. I adore you, Galveston…I have never been there, but I don’t require angry tweets…
The TNT crew was discussing the Pelicans-Thunder series when Barkley informed New Orleans where they could vacation. “Where are they going, Chuck?” asked Shaq. “Galveston,” replied Barkley. “That dirty-ass water. We aren’t even sending them to Cancun. We’re dispatching them to Galveston where that filthy-ass water is washing up on the shore and people think it’s at the beach.”
Whoa. I believe we can confirm that Charles Barkley isn’t a Galveston guy. What an immense shame too. This leaves more space for us at Moody Gardens and the Naval Museum in G-Town. “Y’all quit,” said Barkley, causing Shaq to laugh so hard it seemed like Chuck had spent some time in Galveston before.
But wait a minute proud citizens of Galveston; I think that Charles might have just been having an awful day. While watching playoff hockey on TBS, Barkley made a cameo appearance on their studio show, much as Shaq did earlier during the day. He thanked them for providing us with good hockey to watch because he was down the hall observing three “crap” basketball games instead.
So there you go. Maybe it isn’t that Galveston is dirty or awful or a place we should send teams who quit; perhaps Charles Barkley just had an unfortunate day and chose to discharge his vexation on The City of Galveston, which has been entertaining visitors since its inception during the late 1830s.
