George Washington University Students Speak Out Against Ongoing Anti-Israel Protests with Li Warns of Marxist Infiltration

George Washington University students Sabrina Soffer and Richard Li appeared on ‘Fox & Friends Weekend’ to share their experiences combating anti-Israel protests on campus, which they say are showing no signs of stopping. Li, a Chinese Christian who escaped religious persecution at age 12, is now speaking out for his threatened Jewish classmates in the face of oppression that he says often starts with antisemitism. “Oppression always starts with hatred,” said Li during an appearance on ‘Fox & Friends Weekend’. “And hatred, time and time again, started with antisemitism, and that is what we’re seeing on college campuses… On our campus right now, in front of our doorsteps. And it’s very sad.” In response to disruptive demonstrations which led classes to be moved online for the remainder of the semester, GWU suspended at least seven student protesters who organized an anti-Israel encampment on campus and refused to leave after three days of protesting. Meanwhile, Columbia University students were in the news over a series of disruptive protests that prompted questions about tuition refunds as they are not attending classes full time due to online learning formats being implemented through the end of the semester. The cost for undergraduate studies at Columbia is estimated to be nearly $90,000 annually. Soffer said these anti-Israel protests have been going on for 20 years and that she has personally experienced threats from fellow students two years ago. “It’s not only a Jewish problem; it is an American problem,” said Sabrina. She continued: “These people are not just chanting against the Jews, they’re chanting against American values.” Li concluded by warning that America’s education system has been infiltrated by Marxists and socialists over the last ten years and claimed some faculty members indoctrinate students with anti-Israel lies and hate. “Now you are seeing a generation of Americans who have basically become closeted communists or outright antisemites,” he said, adding that many instructors know they themselves participate in these protests but haven’t taken any action against it because the problem starts at their level too.
