Lilburn Mall Shooting: Domestic Violence Leaves Three Critically Injured, Suspect’s Condition Critical

A tragic event unfolded at Merchants Walk Plaza in Lilburn over the weekend. As reported by Fox 5 Atlanta, a heavy police presence was witnessed near this shopping center on Saturday evening due to an unfortunate series of events that occurred inside Tana Food Mart situated along Lawrenceville Highway. According to the authorities’ statement released later, a man aged sixty-two entered the store armed with a pistol and committed heinous acts that left three individuals injured critically. The suspect first shot dead a fifty-seven-year-old woman and then went on shooting her new husband in his leg around 6 p.m., both of whom were reportedly employed at Tana Food Mart as well. After committing this brutal act, the assailant turned the gun towards himself and fired it into his head. The suspect along with the male victim was rushed to Northside Gwinnett Hospital for treatment where the former’s condition is critical while that of the latter has stabilized so far. Since none of those involved in the incident have been publicly identified by authorities pending notification of their families, their identities remain unknown at this time. The police revealed preliminary information indicating that a heated argument preceded these gruesome acts and classified it as an apparent case of domestic violence whereby the deceased woman was believed to be former spouse of the offender in question as disclosed by WXIA-TV.
