Louisiana police officers injured in shootout with suspect linked to week’s deadly attacks

Three law enforcement officials from Louisiana suffered bullet wounds during an encounter with an individual accused of causing multiple shootings within the past week, as disclosed by authorities on Sunday. The officers were taken to the hospital after getting injured around morning hours at a residence situated approximately 15 miles (24 kilometers) westward New Orleans in Kenner. Chief Keith Conley from Kenner Police Department divulged that the precise condition of the three policemen is still unknown.

A SWAT team continues its presence outside the site as per an update provided by The Times-Picayune/The New Orleans Advocate on Sunday afternoon. No arrests have been reported yet.

As per Captain Michael Cunningham, a spokesperson for Kenner police department, the suspect in question was being sought after another shooting incident that happened earlier during Sunday’s morning when two people got hurt. Moreover, this same person is believed to be involved in an armed robbery and subsequent gunshot wounding of an individual on Tuesday which has left him fighting for his life.
