Macungie Police Hunt Suspects for American Flag Theft in Suburban Neighborhood

The police department in Macungie, Pennsylvania is on a hunt for three suspects after American flags were stolen from suburban neighborhood homes over the weekend. In a Facebook post made by the department on Saturday, surveillance footage showed two men and one woman holding stolen flags as they walked down a road. “Macungie PD requires information and identification of these two males and female in the video,” the statement read. The incident occurred in the Lea St area where several residential homes had their American Flags taken by the suspects, who were seen walking on the street early Saturday morning according to footage released by police. Many Facebook users commented angrily about the theft with suggestions that those responsible should be made to replace and apologize for any damage caused or face punishment through community service replacing flags they have stolen. One user suggested “Probably stealing flags because they were taught to hate America,” while another said, “Seriously?!
