One of Bill Mahar’s guests took a dig at CNN host Don Lemon during their appearance in “Overtime” segment that was broadcasted on the network. This incident occurred after former CNN anchor, Don Lemon, brought up his race and sexual orientation while discussing ongoing pro-Palestinian protests taking place across several college campuses nationwide with Mahar and NYU professor Scott Galloway.
The panel condemned the anti-Semitic nature of these demonstrations; however, Lemon suggested that they could serve as a learning opportunity for students. “I’m not minimizing what’s going on, but it teaches some of these students to deal with discomfort,” he said. Galloway and Mahar also shared similar sentiments.
However, during the discussion, when Lemon tried elaborating further by stating that being a Black gay man made him comfortable in uncomfortable situations often due to being ‘the only person of color’ at such gatherings or places – Maher questioned his statement saying “Why? What’s going on?”
Lemon then attempted to explain the reason, but it became increasingly challenging for Lemon as the audience laughed and cheered. Before this episode aired, another guest from Mahar’s show criticized Lemon back in 2023 due to his controversy regarding Nikki Haley’s run for President during CNN hosting time by making statements about women being unable to contest elections after their forties as per Don Lemon’s opinion.
At the start of Friday night’s program, Mahar spoke against anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian protests in a lengthy monologue where he criticized these demonstrations for merging activism with narcissism – stating that most people would be too dumb to think that making others late could help their cause. He further added that it seemed like the protestors had luxury concerns as they didn’t seem worried about being late due to work commitments, which appeared privileged in comparison to other individuals who may have more pressing obligations such as childcare and jobs.
