Ryan Sieg Suffers Fire Scare During Xfinity Race as Truex Takes Checkered Flag at Dover

Ryan Sieg experienced a frightening incident during Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Dover International Speedway as his car caught fire on Lap 28. The driver was able to safely exit the burning vehicle near the apron after smoke suddenly filled the cockpit and flames erupted under the hood with no warning signs. Sieg finished in 37th place, one spot above J.J. Yeley. Ryan Truex emerged victorious from the A-Game 200 ahead of Carson Kvapil; Sam Mayer, Sheldon Creed and Cole Custer rounded out the top five finishers. In an interview with Fox Sports after the incident, Sieg confirmed that he was unharmed but expressed disappointment as his car had been performing well prior to the unexpected blaze. The younger brother of NASCAR Cup Series star Martin Truex Jr., Ryan Truex praised Carson Kvapil for a strong run and acknowledged feeling guilty about overtaking him in the final laps, although he ultimately secured first place. Justin Allgaier won Stage 1 while Custer claimed victory during Stage 2. With one point separating them atop the drivers’ standings, Smith currently leads Chaser Custer, Austin Hill occupies third position and Jesse Love is fourth with A.J. Allmendinger in fifth spot.
