The accused individual charged with poisoning his expectant girlfriend appeared before a court for the first time via video conference on April 3rd. Blaise Taylor, formerly employed by the Tennessee Titans as a scout from 2019 to 2023, was arrested in Utah following an indictment served upon him earlier this month by U.S. Marshals after moving there post-deaths of his girlfriend Jade Benning and her unborn child. The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Taylor’s bond had been set at $2,500,000 on April 1st due to the murder charges he now faces – two counts of first-degree homicide in connection with both deaths. Due to Benning being five months pregnant when she died, her unborn child also perished as a result of Taylor’s alleged actions. The district attorney is seeking life imprisonment without parole for Taylor under specific circumstances that include his knowledge of Benning’s pregnancy at the time of murder and committing it against someone less than 12 years old. On February 25th, 2023, Taylor called emergency services claiming that Benning had suffered an allergic reaction; however, her condition deteriorated rapidly before she died on March 6th – also coincidentally being her birthday at the age of twenty-five. The alleged murder occurred in Nashville where both individuals resided prior to events unfolding as described herein.
