DALLAS – A fatal shooting at an apartment complex in Fair Park has left a mother and daughter dead as a result of a confrontation that escalated into violence, according to affidavit obtained by FOX 4. Drenesia Willis, aged just seventeen, along with her forty-year old mother LaNeshaia Pinkard were both fatally shot on Tuesday night at the apartments located on South Boulevard. Doris Walker, sixty five years of age has been arrested and charged in connection to their deaths under capital murder charges.
Walker told police that Willis was involved in an altercation with a resident from these apartments whom she knows. She alleged that this woman had then entered her apartment seeking refuge after the fight broke out outside. When Pinkard arrived at Walker’s residence, accompanied by her daughter, they forced their way into the building and proceeded to assault the female residing in there while also making death threats against both Pinkard herself as well as Walker according to an arrest affidavit seen by FOX 4.
Walker then claimed that she shot Willis when she attempted to leave her apartment, followed closely behind by a fatal bullet fired at LaNeshaia Pinkard who was still inside the building during this confrontation. She told police that while shooting Pinkard, she believed the victim had been carrying a firearm but could not confirm whether or not it actually existed as she did not see any weapon in her possession before firing the shots.
Walker has further explained to law enforcement authorities about previous clashes and hostility from both Pinkard and her family that have led up to this tragic incident, according to court documents obtained by FOX 4. The accused is currently being held at Dallas County Jail as investigations into these murders continue.
