Clippers Edge Mavericks Behind George and Harden’s Heroics as Series Ties

The Los Angeles Clippers secured an important victory against the Dallas Mavericks in their Western Conference playoff series as Paul George and James Harden both scored 33 points apiece, including crucial contributions during a tight fourth quarter. Despite blowing a significant lead of 31 points at one stage, the Clippers managed to hold on for a hard-fought 116-111 win that levels the series at two games each. The game saw Kawhi Leonard miss out due to right knee inflammation, but his absence did not seem to hinder the team’s performance as they secured their second consecutive victory without him after dropping both opening games in Dallas. Both teams split their initial road match-ups and will now head back to Los Angeles for Game 5 on Wednesday night with everything still very much up for grabs. Kyrie Irving was a standout performer for the Mavericks, scoring an impressive total of 40 points including a dramatic layup that gave his team their first lead since early in the opening quarter at 104-103 with just over two minutes remaining on the clock. However, George and Harden both stepped up to help secure victory for Los Angeles as they aim to push closer towards advancing through to round two of these playoffs. Luka Doncic also put together a fine performance for Dallas, recording his fourth career triple-double with 29 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists – all against the Clippers in this game alone.
