Police and community members in Chatham, Illinois celebrated the return of local second-grader Judah Collins to his home after successfully undergoing surgery for cancer. The heartwarming event was captured on video as police patrol cars lined up with flashing lights while neighbors cheered, clapped, and waved flags upon Judah’s arrival back from treatment. Since August 2018, the young boy had been receiving chemotherapy before experiencing a relapse in November that left his family “devastated.” In January of this year, doctors transplanted bone marrow from Collins’ mother into her son during surgery to combat cancer once again. The Chatham Police Department shared on Facebook how Judah’s resilience and the love of his mother had led him through a difficult journey towards recovery.
