Dallas Police Successfully Rescue Abducted Three-Year-Old from San Marcos; Suspect in Custody
DALLAS – In a heartwarming turn of events, the three-year-old child who was abducted from Children’s Park in San Marcos on Saturday afternoon has been safely recovered. The suspect responsible for his kidnapping, 46-year-old Joey Torres, is now under police custody as well.
The incident came to light when an AMBER Alert was issued by the authorities at around 9:05 p.m. On Saturday night. According to San Marcos Police Department’s statement, Torres allegedly took away the child from Children’s Park in the vicinity of South CM Allen Parkway at approximately 1:30 p.m.
Dallas police succeeded in tracing Torres’ silver 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander to an apartment complex on Live Oak, where they apprehended both the child and suspect around 1:50 a.m., Sunday morning. The authorities have not yet disclosed any further details regarding their relationship or motive for abduction at this time.
