Do you remember the iconic GoDaddy firesuit worn by Danica Patrick that captured America’s attention for several years? Well, ladies and gentlemen, mark your calendars because it is back once again, alongside Danica herself! What a thrilling way to start off this final Monday of April. Just moments ago, you were sitting here pondering what kind of content would miraculously fall into your lap during such an uneventful time of year. And now, thanks to the return of Danica Patrick and her signature GoDaddy firesuit, all is right with the world!
It’s hard not to reminisce about those glorious days when we used to produce commercials featuring half-naked strippers promoting a domain name. Those were simpler times indeed. Nowadays, it seems like our country has lost its way in terms of producing captivating ads; all that is left for us now are the likes of Travis Kelce injecting himself with Pfizer’s eighth shot or Danny DeVito slinging subs at Jimmy Johns – and we call these ‘commercials’. It almost feels like an episode from The Office, doesn’t it?
But back in those days when Danica Patrick was ruling the commercial game, GoDaddy ads during Super Bowls were worth staying up for. We had no clue what to expect each time – but we knew that there would be a chance of seeing her sporting barely any clothing and making everything much more interesting than your standard sports coverage!
Today’s world is so PC-oriented, however; people are afraid to offend the FCC or social media mobs. As such, instead of producing ads featuring Danica Patrick in all her glory, we resort to hiring lawyers like Morgan & Morgan and calling it a day – quite sad indeed!
Remember those glorious times when we produced GoDaddy commercials that featured half-naked strippers promoting domain names? Those were the days. Today’s ads just pale in comparison – at least now we have Sarah Mclachlan playing her saddest song for dead animals, instead of Danica Patrick getting undressed right before our very eyes. That sure as heck spelled fun back then!
