Deadly Oversized Load Collapse on Highway near Temple, Texas: Two Passengers Perish as Third Victim Critically Injured and Rescued after Equipment Falls onto Car Roof

Authorities in Texas are currently investigating a tragic incident that left two individuals dead and another severely injured on Saturday after an enormous piece of equipment detached from its trailer and fell onto the roof of a car, trapping the occupants inside. The Temple Fire Department reported receiving emergency calls around 11:30 am regarding a collision along State Highway 36 near Highway 317’s intersection. Upon arriving at the scene, rescue teams discovered that an oversized load had come loose from its trailer and pinned down the vehicle beneath it. According to officials, the equipment being transported weighed approximately 350,00 pounds but did not specify what type of machinery was involved in this incident. Three individuals were reportedly trapped inside the car at the time of rescue efforts; unfortunately, two passengers succumbed to their injuries while a third victim was extricated and rushed to the hospital with life-threatening conditions via air ambulance. Extrication procedures took more than four hours before first responders could safely remove the driver from his vehicle’s wreckage. Ten fire engines and 25 personnel responded promptly to attend this collision, which is still under investigation by local authorities who have yet to reveal the identities of those involved in the tragedy.
