Tragedy strikes twice as a toddler in Buckeye and another child in Phoenix die from unrelated pool accidents on Sunday, April 28. The first incident occurred at around 2:15 p.m., where emergency services found the two-year-old boy unconscious in a backyard swimming pool near Miller and Broadway roads. He was immediately taken to the hospital in critical condition.
In Phoenix, another heartbreaking event unfolded as paramedics were called to a residence on 39th Avenue and Maryland Street around 4:20 p.m., where they found a two-year-old boy unresponsive after being pulled out of his family’s swimming pool in the backyard. The child was given CPR until first responders arrived, but unfortunately, he did not survive.
Authorities confirmed that both incidents were independent occurrences and are currently investigating them jointly with the Office of Medical Examiners to determine what led up to these tragic events. Further details about each case have yet to be disclosed by law enforcement officials at this time.
