Dream Fest Braves Severe Weather for Music Amidst Prepared Staff

The potential for severe weather may have deterred some people from attending Arlington’s Dream Fest event on Saturday evening; however, those who did show up were eagerly anticipating both music and rain. Despite organizers hoping for clear skies, Mother Nature had other plans in mind as she brought forth stormy conditions overnight. However, the staff was well-prepared with evacuation procedures at hand should it become necessary due to wind being a major concern during severe weather events. They have contingencies that cover safety such as full water barrels used by vendors so they can safely continue their business activities amidst any possible flooding or tornadoes. The kids’ area was closely monitored, and staff were ready to take it down immediately in case of evacuation. Despite the threat of severe weather conditions like rain, some attendees did not let this dampen their spirits as they felt that there wasn’t much stopping them from having fun during such an eventful evening. Felipe Cantu brought his granddaughter along and was unfazed by any possible downpour or muddy terrain since he believed it wouldn’t stop him from enjoying himself fully, while others like Camisica Gaston and Greg Farmer were equally unphased but carried their own rain-proof equipment to ensure they remained dry throughout the event. Out on the lawn, some couples weren’t afraid of getting a little muddy as Lisa Johnson stated that her husband expected rains and would arrive during good weather times however when in for the evening, she was ready with an umbrella just in case it did rain heavily; Walter Johnson echoed his wife’s sentiments about being prepared to enjoy themselves come what may. The event will wrap up at 10 pm on Saturday night while forecasters warn of severe weather expected during the wee hours of Sunday morning, and attendees have promised that they would leave immediately after the concert and stay away from any potential hazards posed by the storms as much as possible before finally making their way back home.
