LANCASTER, Calif. – In a tragic incident on Sunday night, five individuals lost their lives as a result of a high-speed collision at the junction point between 106th Street East and Pearblossom Highway, also known as State Route 138. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that this horrific accident occurred around 8:15 p.m., leaving both vehicles involved in shambles on either side of the roadway.
Upon arriving at the scene, emergency responders discovered two cars lying mangled and disoriented due to an impactful crash which hurled them off the highway’s edge into thick underbrush as well as dusty soil situated along its margins. The CHP identified one car as a Toyota that had flipped over completely in the brush, while another vehicle – a Mitsubishi – was lying on its side against the dirt beside it.
As of yet, authorities have not released any further information about the deceased victims involved; however, officials at the scene confirmed that five individuals perished as a result of this fatal collision. The CHP is currently investigating the cause behind this catastrophic event and has requested anyone with relevant details to come forward immediately.
This incident comes on the heels of another alarming vehicular accident which occurred in Riverside, where an impaired driver travelling against traffic flow collided multiple times before causing injuries to three individuals involved.
