FRISCO, TEXAS – In an intense MLS soccer match between FC Dallas and Houston Dynamo held at Toyota Stadium on April 27, Petar Musa and defender Sebastien Ibeagha scored crucial goals in the second half to secure a dominant 2-0 victory for FC Dallas. The game took a dramatic turn as midfielder Griffin Dorsey received a red card just five minutes into the match, forcing Houston Dynamo to play with one less player on the field. Despite this setback, it wasn’t until the 55th minute that Dallas was finally able to break through and score their first goal of the game thanks to an assist from Emmanuel Twumasi, who found Musa for his third goal in as many weeks. Ibeagha then sealed the victory with a well-placed shot into the net during the 80th minute, marking only his second career goal and second since joining FC Dallas last year following stints at New York City FC and Los Angeles FC. Maarten Paes did not have to make any saves in securing his third clean sheet of the season for FC Dallas. Steve Clark saved four shots on goal as Houston Dynamo, who previously allowed only eight goals this season, struggled defensively against their opponents. The victory saw Dallas take a 15-13-9 lead over all time meetings between both clubs following previous scoreless draws and ties last year. With the game ending in favor of FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo will return home to play St. Louis City on Saturday while FC Dallas is set to travel to Canada for their match against FC Toronto also scheduled for this weekend. In a surprising move earlier during the week, Houston acquired attacker McKinze Gaines from Nashville via trade and brought him into the game in place of Sebastian Kowalczyk with only 16 minutes remaining on the clock, though he couldn’t score a shot before being issued a yellow card late in the match.
