Finch Injured as Timberwolves Sweep Suns; Edwards Shines in Playoffs

Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch left Phoenix after his team’s playoff series sweep over the Suns with an unexpected injury. In the fourth quarter of Game 4, Finch collided with guard Mike Conley Jr., rupturing his patellar tendon in his right knee. The veteran mentor was assisted off the floor and departed on a cart after the incident. Teammate Conley said he didn’t notice Finch until it was too late to prevent their collision, but expressed well-wishes for his coach’s recovery. Minnesota assistant Micah Nori reported that Finch remained in good spirits following the game.
Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves with a stunning 40 points performance, including an impressive slam dunk over Kevin Durant during the contest. The young star received high praise from his opponent after the matchup. “My favorite player to watch,” said Durant of Edwards’ style on court. “Just grown up so much since he came into the league. His love for basketball shines bright, that’s one reason I like him most because he just loves basketball and is grateful to be in this position.” Karl-Anthony Towns added 28 points and ten rebounds as Minnesota eliminated Phoenix from postseason contention with a final score of 122-116. The center expressed his excitement for the future, stating that “Playing with my man on my right just makes it more special,” referring to Edwards’ talents on court.
