JAKKS Pacific Recalls Mario Kart Ride-On Toys Due to Crash Hazard

About 17,500 Mario Kart 24V ride-on racer toys manufactured by JAKKS Pacific have been recalled after the company received 65 reports of clogged debris causing the acceleration pedal to stick, posing a risk of crashing. The affected models carry manufacturing codes 1752VE01, 1782VE01, 1952VE01, 2242VE01, 2352VE01, 2852VE01 and 0583VE01. These codes can be found underneath the vehicle at the bottom of a blue panel. The company stated that current models being sold in stores or online are not affected by this recall. In fifteen instances where debris caused pedal sticking, there were reported crashes into fixed structures. A single incident resulted in an injury – chafed hands. These toys have been available for purchase between October 2022 and January 2024 through Amazon, Macy’s, Game Stop, Entertainment Earth, Walmart, Target or the Nebraska Furniture Market for $400 apiece. The company recommends immediately halting usage of affected models to obtain a free repair kit consisting of a placement pedal and installation instructions from JAKKS Pacific at 855-602-5464.
