Long Island Dismemberment Case: Wallace Re-Arrested, Co-Accused Charged with Murder

Amanda Wallace, one of the suspects involved in the grisly discovery of dismembered body parts across Long Island last month, was re-arrested over the weekend. Two other individuals previously charged with hindering prosecution, tampering with evidence and concealing a human corpse have been scheduled to appear in court on Monday morning for charges related to murder. The suspects identified as Steven Brown, Jeffrey Mackey, Amanda Wallace, and Alexis Nieves were initially arrested last month following the discovery of body parts by high school students in Babylon. As investigations continued, police located additional remains at a nearby park, where they also found what appeared to be a woman’s head, leg, and arm during evening hours. The group was arraigned but released without bail; however, officials required them to surrender their passports and wear monitoring devices as part of the terms for release. During a search warrant executed at an apartment on Railroad Avenue in Amityville (listed under Brown’s address), investigators discovered meat cleavers, butcher knives, and bloodstains.
