Former NFL player Jason Kelce revealed on a podcast that his Super Bowl LII championship ring may be lost forever after being accidentally thrown out during an event involving fans searching for the ring in a vat of chili. During a challenge organized as part of New Heights’ live recording, players had to find Kelce’s actual Super Bowl LII ring wrapped inside a sock and buried under Cincinnati-style Skyline Chili, but some of the socks contained fake or replica rings instead. The contestants were required to race against time in order to locate Jason’s real championship ring amidst chili-covered socks, however it was never found despite efforts from an intern using a shovel and another helper with a metal detector that failed due to traces of iron present within the chili itself. Kelce explained on the podcast that he believed the sock containing his Super Bowl LII ring may have been kicked out of the pool during all the chaos, leading him to suspect it was subsequently thrown away in some way or form while trying to retrieve items from the calamitous scene at a later point in time. Kelce is famously known for delivering an impassioned speech dressed as a Mummer on the steps of Philadelphia’s Art Museum during the Eagles Super Bowl parade, and he has now put forward an insurance claim after realizing that his championship ring might be lost forever due to this unfortunate incident at Cincinnati. If Kelce cannot find the missing ring in future searches, then another one will have to be made for him as a replacement.
