Multiple Officers Shot in Charlotte; Active Situation Ongoing

CHARLOTTE, N.C – Multiple law enforcement officers have been struck by gunfire in Charlotte, North Carolina as per a statement released on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. The police department further added that several victims have already been transported to hospitals and shootings continue at the scene of the incident.
The authorities revealed that they were attempting to serve an arrest warrant in the 5000 block of Galway Drive when shots were fired, but did not specify how many officers had sustained injuries during this active situation. The police urged people to avoid the area as roads around it have been closed for faster ambulance transport and requested residents to remain indoors until further notice.
At 2:23 p.m., a SWAT team was dispatched by authorities, who confirmed on X that they were actively dealing with the incident at hand while also asking locals to stay inside their homes as this situation remains ongoing.
