NFL Player Tank Dell Among 10 Hurt in Florida Shooting at Cabana Live

At least ten individuals, including NFL player Tank Dell from the Houston Texans team, were taken to hospitals with gunshot injuries early on Sunday morning in Florida after a 16-year-old allegedly pulled out a firearm inside an events venue called Cabana Live and began shooting. The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office disclosed that law enforcement personnel had been patrolling the area due to the large gathering at the site when they heard several gunshots originating from the rear of the facility shortly before midnight. Many people fled as a result, according to reports.
All ten victims are expected to survive after being treated for non-life threatening injuries primarily affecting their legs, authorities said. The suspect has been apprehended and charged with attempted homicide, discharging firearms on public property, displaying or utilizing weapons during the commission of a felony, as well as possession of guns by minors, according to court paperwork cited in news reports published subsequently. Witnesses allegedly heard an altercation inside Cabana Live before seeing the teenage suspect pull out his weapon and begin shooting at people nearby. A security guard reportedly tackled him immediately after disarming him while a second security staffer detained him until deputies arrived, as stated in court records reviewed by media agencies on Monday morning (25 January).
Tank Dell was among the victims of this incident; he is an American football wide receiver for the Houston Texans and hails from Daytona Beach. The team issued a statement via social media channels confirming that they were aware of his involvement in the shooting, noting that while sustaining minor injuries during the event, Tank had already been released from hospital by Sunday morning and was reportedly doing well at this time.
Cabana Live has also made an official announcement on its Facebook page stating that all employees are safe as law enforcement officials continue their investigation into what caused this isolated incident following a private function held in the venue overnight, according to reports published online today (25 January).
