The emergence of remote jobs is transforming various industries beyond technology, finance, and human resources. According to a report by job search site Indeed, the volume of remote job postings on its platform has increased by 40% between March 2023 and March 2024 despite some shrinkage in specific sectors due to labor market slowdowns. The study reveals that roles previously considered as traditional office jobs are now among the most sought-after positions for remote work, such as document reviewers or forensic analysts. Indeed’s career trends expert Gabrielle Davis explains that this trend is not necessarily a reflection of employers changing their minds about working from home but rather an indication of industries affected by labor market slowdowns. The 10 most in-demand remote jobs identified through the analysis include document reviewers, who earn over $92,000 annually on average, followed closely by medical scribes and physicians assistants. These roles offer full or part-time work from home opportunities with salaries exceeding $80,000 per year.
