Rescuers have embarked on a mission to save an individual trapped in their vehicle that fell off the edge of Angeles Crest Highway, located near mile marker 32 in La Cañada Flintridge. The Los Angeles County fire department, as well as members from Montrose Search & Rescue Team were promptly dispatched towards the area shortly before 6:30 a.m on Tuesday morning following reports of an isolated vehicular mishap.
The car in question is said to have plunged over five hundred feet down the mountainside, as per authorities’ statements. To reach the stranded individual inside the vehicle, firefighters were hoisted from a helicopter by L.A County Fire while ground personnel simultaneously started their way towards the location carrying outstretched stretchers for possible transportation of any casualties.
According to reports received via Montrose Search & Rescue Team’s official social media handle, as soon as rescuers came within reach of the vehicle, they managed to liberate the trapped occupant and subsequently airlifted them towards an area hospital for further medical attention. The victim’s condition has not yet been revealed by officials in charge of operations at this point.
