Dallas Animal Services Urges Foster Homes Amidst Overcrowding After Record Intake Weekend

Dallas Animal Services (DAS) is currently seeking animal foster parents following a busy intake weekend that saw the shelter take in an overwhelming number of canines on Saturday alone, totaling 112 dogs. As a result, DAS now exceeds its maximum capacity by more than one-third, with approximately four hundred and twenty eight animals sharing three hundred kennels. The organization shared their concerns via social media, stating that “every time we start to catch our breath and think our capacity is going down, here comes a huge intake weekend to set us back again.” DAS has requested the assistance of volunteers as well as foster parents, particularly for dogs weighing forty pounds or more, in addition to motherless kittens.
