Fox News reporter Brooke Singman shares the identities of three out of four law enforcement officers who were tragically killed in a shootout on Monday afternoon in Charlotte, North Carolina. The police department of Charlotte (CMPD) announced that their officer Joshua Eyer lost his life while assisting other policemen during an arrest attempt against 39-year-old Terry Clark Hughes Jr., accused of possessing firearms as a convicted felon. Sam Poloche and Alden Elliot, both task force officers assigned to the U.S. Marshals Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force, were also identified by North Carolina’s Department of Adult Correction (NCDAC). The department expressed their condolences for these heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our state and prayed for healing for all those affected by this tragic incident. Hughes was killed in the shootout as well, along with an unidentified U.S Marshals Service deputy whose family has not yet been informed of his death. The shooting began when a US Marshal’s Task Force attempted to serve a warrant against Hughes Jr., who initially opened fire. Two other individuals were taken into police custody for further investigation after being identified as persons of interest in the case, including a 17-year-old and an unnamed woman. A total of eight law enforcement officers sustained gunshot injuries during this incident; three CMPD officers and one U.S Marshals Task Force officer are still recovering from their wounds at present.
