Fox News host Sean Hannity criticized a recent interview President Joe Biden gave to liberal radio talk show host Howard Stern as “gaffe-prone” and filled with tall tales during his program, ‘Hannity.’ The interview, in which Stern praised Biden’s accomplishments throughout the conversation while he spoke of various questionable anecdotes such as handing over salacious pictures to the Secret Service or being arrested for standing on a porch with a Black family when younger. President Joe Biden appealed to members of the press corps during last month’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner, urging them not to dismiss former president Donald Trump’s “attack on democracy” as just talk and instead focus on what is at stake in this election year. ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos echoed Biden’s message the following day during his show, warning against treating this presidential race like a normal campaign due to its legal woes involving Donald Trump despite the current poll leader’s positioning ahead of Democrats’ contender for president Kamala Harris appeared on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show,’ discussing how she became known as “Momala” by her husband’s children and also faced criticism from pundits over laughter, after several media outlets expressed discomfort at his interviews granted with local news channels. The recent uptick in Biden’s selective interview choices has been noted; some of the president’s most recent interviewees include “Late Night” host Seth Meyers, former President Barack Obama and Hollywood allies Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett for a joint podcast recording. The New York Times criticized Biden’s lack of serious interviews with independent journalists in an open statement earlier this month, accusing him of avoiding questions from major news organizations like itself going back more than 100 years; the outlet demanded he answer them due to future presidents following suit if no one stopped his practices now. Prior adversarial meetings include interactions during PBS NewsHour’s Judy Woodruff and ABC’s David Muir in February, both of whom questioned him about classified documents scandals. The rest of the year has been filled with friendly interviews such as ‘The Daily Show,’ NBC’s Al Roker, MSNBC’s Joe Scarbourgh, Stephanie Ruhle and Nicolle Wallace, CNN’s Fareed Zakaria, British wellness podcast host Jay Shatt, CBS correspondent Scott Pelley on “60 Minutes,” Spanish radio host Tony Arias, CNN’s Anderson Cooper for his grief podcast and comedian Conan O’Brien. In earlier this year Biden declined the pre-Super Bowl interview with CBS following a similar decision last year to avoid Fox News.
