Phoenix, AZ – An impaired driver who police claim fled from the scene after causing a rollover accident early on Tuesday morning has been apprehended. The collision took place around 1:45 am near the intersection of 43rd Avenue and McDowell Road in west Phoenix.
Upon arriving at the site, officers discovered an injured driver who was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure. Cordero Duckworth, aged thirty-five, allegedly fled from the scene but was found nearby by law enforcement authorities according to Sergeant Rob Scherer. After investigating the collision it has been determined that Duckworth was behind the wheel of the vehicle responsible for causing the accident.
During his arrest, Duckworth faced charges including driving under the influence (DUI) and failing to remain at the scene following a collision. He is currently being held in lieu of detention as authorities continue their investigation into this incident.
