Irving Runner Sexually Assaulted, Predator Sought; Irving PD Emphasizes Safety Measures

The Irving Police Department is searching for an offender who attacked a female runner in her neighborhood earlier this year. According to the victim’s account, she was assaulted by an unknown individual while jogging on Cowboys Parkway in April 2018. During the incident, he grabbed and threw her onto the ground before attempting to sexually violate her. The woman fought back with punches and scratches until the assailant fled in his car. Irving authorities received a tip regarding a possible suspect last month, which led them to arrest Brandon Lee Williams on an unrelated warrant. During questioning, he confessed that he intended to engage in sexual intercourse with the victim and provided details about the assault that had not been disclosed publicly by police at the time of his apprehension. The Irving Police Department recommends running in pairs, remaining alert of one’s surroundings, and informing friends or family members of a runner’s intended route before embarking on any run for safety purposes.
