Key Details and Deadlines for Upcoming Primary Elections in North Texas

The final deadline for registering to participate in the upcoming primary elections on March 5 falls on Monday, February 5. If you have not yet registered or are uncertain about your eligibility status, there are a few simple steps that can streamline the process.
In North Texas alone, mayoral races will be contested in twenty cities including Duncanville, Lewisville, and Denton. Furthermore, city council positions will also feature on ballots for several locations. Bond elections have been scheduled for various areas as well; Dallas’ $1.25 billion issue comprises roughly half of its total amount designated to finance infrastructure improvements such as streets and transportation networks.
In Fort Worth, voters are being asked whether they would support a new hotel occupancy tax aimed at funding renovations for the city convention center. Additionally, school board elections will take place in thirty districts with nine others hosting bond referendums primarily intended to fund either fresh educational facilities or enhancements related to campus security measures.
Anna ISD situated within Collin County’s north area requests a $100 million proposal earmarked for construction of an entirely new stadium that can accommodate upwards of 12,000 spectators and includes provisions for hosting community events with seating capacity reaching one hundred fifty individuals. The district cites its existing sports venue as too small in relation to the local school population which is anticipated to almost triple over a ten-year span starting from now onward.
Early voting timetables may differ depending upon individual county circumstances, but those who fail to participate prior to Saturday’s elections must make their way to polling stations between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm on that day as mandated by the established electoral laws in place for this event.
