“Midtown Jane Doe” Identity Revealed through DNA from 9/11 Victim’s Relative

The decades-old mystery surrounding the murder of “Midtown Jane Doe” has taken a significant turn, thanks to DNA analysis from a family member who perished during the September 11 attacks. NYPD’s Cold Case Squad and Detective Ryan Glas have identified the victim as Patricia Kathleen McGlone, aged sixteen at the time of her murder around five decades ago in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. In January 2003, construction workers uncovered McGlone’s skull along with some body parts within cement and wrapped up inside a building under demolition on West 46th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. Glas recounted that the victim was buried beneath carpeting and hogtied using electrical cord. Further investigation revealed an array of items accompanying McGlone’s remains, including a plastic green toy soldier from the 1960s, Bulova watch, and a ring with her initials engraved on it. Glas also mentioned that detectives discovered evidence suggesting she had given birth before being murdered. The building where McGlone was found used to be a bar known for launching legendary rock stars like Jimi Hendrix in the 1960s; apartments were situated above this establishment as well. Detective Glas and his colleagues suspect the victim may have dwelled inside the place, alongside or habitually patronized it with her spouse whom she was wedded to at that time of murder.
