Kamala Harris sat down with popular TV show host Drew Barrymore recently for an extended chat that was broadcasted on Monday. The discussion revolved significantly around the relationship between Vice President Harris and her husband, second gentleman Doug Emhoff, as well as their children. In fact, Harris often jokes about being called “Momala” by her stepchildren because of the strong bond she has forged with them over time. Barrymore picked up on this during the interview when she remarked that in these trying times, people need a mother figure like Harris to lead and guide them through their struggles. She went further to suggest that America needs “Momala” as its protector right now because of her nurturing qualities.
Harris responded by stating that true strength is not measured based on who one beats down but rather who they lift up instead, citing what she views as a misguided notion about the nature of power over recent years. While President Joe Biden has been relatively scarce in his media appearances lately, both he and Harris have recently started making more frequent forays into nonpolitical venues ahead of the 2024 elections. For instance, besides her chat with Barrymore, the popular podcast SmartLess featured a lengthy discussion between former presidents Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden that was moderated by Stephen Colbert back in March. Additionally, just last week, President Biden sat down for an extended interview session with notorious talk radio host Howard Stern.
