FOX 4’s Ali Turiano examines the ongoing downpour in North Texas and previews further storm activity for the remainder of the week. After experiencing intense thunderstorms on Friday, including possible tornadoes, North Texas faces potential showers this Sunday afternoon. The recent heavy rainfall during overnight hours has resulted in flooding across the Metroplex area. Drivers are advised to be cautious when heading out in the morning as several roads have already been shut off due to high water levels. Around 2 or 3 p.m., more storms may emerge from the east, potentially leading to severe weather conditions such as large hail, powerful gusts of wind, and even a sliver probability of a twister. The strongest of these developments is likely closer towards areas eastern DFW since an Enhanced Risk (3 out of 5) for significant thunderstorm activity has been issued by the Storm Prediction Center in that region.
