Operation Guardian: Canadian Authorities Arrest Over 60 Individuals for Child Sexual Abuse Following Ten-Day Crackdown

In a recent operation spanning ten days in February, Canadian authorities executed multiple investigations into child sexual abuse resulting in the arrest of over 60 individuals and the filing of numerous charges. Provincial Police Det. Staff Sgt. Tim Brown confirmed these developments and stated that most of the investigations were triggered by complaints submitted to various digital services such as social media platforms. One specific instance involved an undercover officer being targeted through online luring. According to Brown, a total of 348 offenses have been charged, with over 600 digital devices having been confiscated during the course of the operations. The suspects in question span ages ranging from 16 to 67. Police also alleged that one of the individuals apprehended was found to be in possession of 21 terabytes of content related to child sexual abuse. Additionally, 34 victims have been identified, and 30 children have been protected.
