Three Israeli soldiers suffered serious injuries today during an operation to dismantle a network of tunnels belonging to Hamas in Eastern Rafah. Reports suggest that the soldiers were caught in an explosion triggered by a booby trap, which partially collapsed the tunnel. The injured soldiers were rapidly evacuated by air to nearby trauma centers where they are now reported to be in stable condition. This incident comes as Israeli forces continue their efforts to dismantle Hamas’ military and governance capabilities, following the closure of the Rafah border crossing with Egypt by an Israeli tank brigade earlier this week.
