9 dead, 2 injured in morning collision involving truck and passenger van in China’s Ningxia region

In the early hours of Thursday morning, a fatal collision took place on a highway located outside the city of Qingtongxia in China’s Ningxia region. A truck collided with a passenger van, leaving nine individuals deceased and two others sustaining injuries. According to reports from the state-owned Ningxia Daily, the incident occurred at approximately 7:40 a.m. The injured victims were currently being treated at a nearby hospital and were reportedly in stable condition. The driver of the passenger van tragically lost their life in the tragedy. State media revealed that the driver of the truck is currently undergoing urgent medical attention. Local media outlets shared footage demonstrating the extent of the damage caused to the front of the van during the impact. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
