Fox News correspondent David Spunt provided updates on the ongoing classified documents case during a segment on “Special Report.” In a separate development, Florida’s Chief Financial Officer, Jimmy Patronis, sent a letter to former President Trump urging him to claim around $54,000 worth of assets through the state’s unclaimed property program to help finance his legal battles against “radical state attorneys” who are pursuing him. The assets include funds belonging to Trump, his family members, or his businesses that are currently unclaimed, and Patronis suggested that Trump could use them to bolster his defense in multiple ongoing court cases. Patronis, who described himself as a former small business owner who appreciated Trump’s attention to customers, criticized the prosecutions of Trump and pledged to assist his office in processing unclaimed property requests via the state’s fltreasurehunt.gov website. Patronis’ letter expressed concern that “very, very nasty people” were coming after Trump and urged him to take advantage of this resource to aid his legal battles. The assets identified by Patronis included accounts registered under the names of Trump, his wife Melania, and his daughter Ivanka, as well as his resorts in Doral and Sunny Isles Beach. The former president has previously labeled these legal actions against him as “witch hunts” perpetrated by President Biden. Additionally, Judge Juan Merchan recently held Trump in contempt of court and imposed fines of $1,000 for each of ten gag order violations during the ongoing NY v. Trump trial.
